How to fix Omega Queue and Pop-Up Print Issues

Since a major update from Microsoft, we are no longer able to utilize Internet Explorer to access Omega Care.

For many users that are accessing through Microsoft Edge (on Windows 10 or 11), there are inherent issues for print queues, update lists, and pop-up boxes (such as printing) that are occurring when using standard Edge browser windows.

Here is the way to bypass the built-in Edge settings and allow Omega Care to function properly from within Microsoft Edge (for Windows 10 and 11).

Step 1 – Open Microsoft Edge Settings and Change Default Browser #

To open Microsoft Edge settings, click the three dots at the top right of your edge screen, then click “settings”

Once you are in settings – go to “Default Browser”

Change the setting for “Let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge” to “Always (Recommended)

Then, change the setting for “Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode)” to “Allow”

Then, click “Add” and add the following sites:

https://omegaemr.com

https://www.omegaemr.com

Make sure you add both sites with and without “www” and use “https:”

Then, click “restart” to restart your browser (not your computer)

Step 2 – Change Site Permissions #

Your browser window when you open https://omegaemr.com should now say “You’re in Internet Explorer mode.” at the top of your screen under the address bar.

If it does not say this, then click the “Open tab in Internet Explorer Button” as shown below:

Once you have the browser open in IE mode, you should see an Internet Explorer icon next to the padlock at the top right of your screen next to the address bar that says “https://omegaemr.com”

If your address bar DOES NOT say “https://omegaemr.com,” go to that website because the next two steps require this.

From here, click on the IE icon as shown below, and activate the two checkboxes that say “Open this page in compatibility view” and “Open this page in Internet Explorer mode next time.” As shown below:

Then – click on the padlock icon next to the IE icon, and then click “Permissions for this site” as shown below:

Once you are in the permissions screen, set all settings to “Allow” (if they have that option), make sure you at least set the following to “Allow”:

Notifications

JavaScript

Pop-ups and redirects

Ads

Background sync

Insecure content

Your settings should look like this:

Rest assured, you are only setting these to Allow for Omega Care and not all websites if you followed the steps above.

After that, close the Settings tab and restart your browser.

All set from this point!

Remember – you will need to add https://omegaemr.com AND https://www.omegaemr.com to the list of sites for compatibility mode (Step 1) every 30 days for the near foreseeable future.
